Willis Tower’s Glass Skydeck Cracks Under Tourists’ Feet During Visit

Tourists at the glass Skydeck on the 103rd floor of Chicago’s Willis Tower got the scare of a lifetime Wednesday night when one of the glass ledges began cracking beneath them. Turns out it was just the ledge’s protective coating cracking, but tourists Alejandro Garibay, his brother, and two cousins, didn’t know that at the time. Willis Tower officials released a statement today saying that the coating is meant to crack occasionally and that it does not affect the structural integrity of The Ledge in any way.
