Many stayed up late last night to watch the results of the long, hard-fought 2012 presidential election. Shortly before midnight [EST] it became clear that President Barack Obama would be re-elected. Mitt Romney gave his concession speech after personally calling Barack Obama to congratulate him on his victory. Barack Obama tweeted, ‘This happened because of you. Thank you. We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Four more years. Thank you.’ before giving his acceptance speech.
