GravityLight – Lighting For Developing Countries.

Designers, Martin Riddiford and Jim Reeves of the London-based design firm, Therefore, have spent their spare time, over the past four years, designing a light to replace kerosene lamps in developing countries. Riddiford and Reeves have developed the GravityLight, an inexpensive alternative to dangerous kerosene lamps and expensive solar lights. The GravityLight is powered by a weight system, taking just seconds to lift a weight provides 30 minutes of energy. The energy can be used to power lights, radio, batteries and more.
