12-year-old Gabriel Angelo is known as San Francisco’s trumpet kid who plays a cornet and tap dances near Mission and 4th Street in downtown San Francisco. Fabian Sixtus Körner ran into Gabriel on his journey around the world and created a short video of his performance. Gabriel has been playing trumpet for six years and performs on the street to earn money for music lessons at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Berkeley Jazz School. In Fabian’s short film Gabriel talks about the time he played on stage with one of the most famous trumpet players in the world, Arturo Sandoval who also gave Gabriel a brand new cornet which he plays today. Gabriel was invited to the Ellen Show earlier this month to perform, he received a standing ovation from the audience.
