Boy With Cerebral Palsy Walks To Father Returning From Afghanistan.

Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney returned home in December meeting his family in a gymnasium where his wife and five children waited. His 6-year-old son Michael suffers from cerebral palsy and was told by doctors he would never walk. While Jeremy was deployed, with the help from his teachers Michael discovered how to stand and soon how to take a few steps with a cane. Melissa Cooney, Michael’s mother told family members and friends not to share Micheal’s progress with Jeremy, she wanted it to be a surprise when Jeremy returned home. Jeremy crouched down when he saw Michael walking towards him for the first time, Jeremy described it as ‘one of the happiest moments of his life’ and that ‘Parents are supposed to inspire their kids. In our kids, it’s the opposite. Michael inspires us on a daily basis. He’s a one-of-a-kind child’. Michael walking to his father Jeremy is one of the most watched videos today with over 1 million views in one day. *Grab the tissues for this one.
