In April of 2012 U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills lost all four limbs after an IED exploded during his third deployment to Afghanistan. Mills is just one of five quadruple-amputees from recent wars to survive such extensive injuries. His motto, “never give up, never quit,” has lead him to a speedy recovery and the ability to overcome the obstacles of living life as a quadruple amputee. Mills’ incredible inspirational story has been featured in Travis: A Soldier’s Story, a documentary which “sheds light on the daily inward and outward struggles of our wounded veterans and the difficult rehabilitation processes they face.”
