Raul Oaida from Romania super glued a LEGO space shuttle together and sent it into space as a tribute to the end of the space shuttle era. The LEGO shuttle reached 130,000 feet above the earth and overnight Raul became a celebrity in Romania. The launch took place in Germany which was the only country that allowed the air traffic clearance in Europe. Steve Sammartino, an Australian Internet entrepreneur helped fund the launch after Raul sent the idea to Steve across the world via Skype.
