On the day before Mother’s Day last month, 83-year-old Alzheimer’s patient Melvyn Amrine from Little Rock, Arkansas went missing. Melvyn’s wife, Doris, feared the worst called 911 for help. Police found Melvyn 2 miles away on a mission no one expected, buying Mother’s Day flowers for his wife. After Melvyn’s safe return home, Doris said, “It’s special because even though the mind doesn’t remember everything, the heart remembers.”
