92-Year-Old Man Risks His Life To Save 5-Year-Old Girl From Being Trampled By A Horse

Two years ago, 92-year-old John Shear was working as a paddock guard at Santa Anita Park racetrack in Arcadia, California when he heard someone shout there was a loose horse on the grounds. The racehorse sprinted Shear’s way and at the last possible second he noticed a little girl beside him. Without hesitating, Shear stepped in front of the runaway horse and saved the 5-year-old girl’s life. Despite being hospitalized for months and almost losing his own life, Shear says, ‘I’d do it again. Without a blink of the eye, I’d do it again’.
