High School Suspends Student For Clever Chemistry Joke In Her Yearbook

Last Friday administrators at Mundy’s Mill High School in Jonesboro, Georgia suspended senior class vice president Paris Gray after they figured out what her yearbook quote meant. Gray’s quote read, “When the going gets tough, just remember to Barium, Carbon, Potassium, Thorium, Astatine, Arsenic, Sulfur, Uranium, Phosphorus.” Using the periodic table of elements, the elements translate to [Ba][C][K] [Th][At] [As][S] [U][P]. Not pleased with the quote, administrators gave Gray an in-school suspension and have threatened her ability to attend graduation.
