On April 15th, 2013 Carlos Arredondo [The man in the cowboy hat] helped save the life of 27-year-old Jeff Bauman who was severely wounded in the Boston Marathon bombings. Bauman lost both of his legs in the bombings and recently shared his long and painful journey with Josh Haner, Catherine Spangler and Tim Rohan of the New York Times.
