7-Year-Old Cancer Patient Scores Touchdown In Nebraska Spring Game

7-year-old Jack Hoffman of Atkinson, Nebraska was diagnosed with brain cancer in April 2011. Jack has undergone a couple surgeries to remove a golf ball sized tumor near his brain stem. Between surgeries Jack met Rex Burkhead, running back for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and has been close to the Nebraska football program ever since. On a two-week break from a 60-week chemotherapy regimen, Jack was invited to the Conhuskers’ spring scrimmage. Not only was he invited to the game but he also was sent out on the field during the game. Jack received a handoff from quarterback Taylor Martinez and ran 69 yards for the scrimmage’s final touchdown.
