2012 Annular Solar Eclipse – Ring Of Fire.
This Sunday, May 20th parts of the western United States will witness an annular solar eclipse where the moon will cover 94% of the sun. Science at NASA gives us a closer look at what will happen in the evening hours in the United States and early morning hours in Asia. The annular solar eclipse will last about two hours for areas in the United States. According to the weather channel, areas in the US that will see the annular eclipse best are Northern California, Central Nevada, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Central New Mexico and North Western Texas; surrounding areas will see the eclipse at about 80%. In the Los Angeles area the best times to view the annular eclipse will be from 5:24 pm to 7:42 pm with the maximum eclipse occurring at 6:38 pm all Pacific Standard Time.
