Sea Otter Plays Basketball.
15-year-old Eddie the sea otter at the Oregon Zoo in Portland, Oregon has arthritis in his elbows. To improve Eddie’s joint function, lead sea otter keeper Jenny DeGroot has trained Eddie to put a ball through a plastic basketball hoop. DeGroot says, ‘Eddie almost never misses, and if he does miss he keeps going until he makes it’.
