Ronan, a rescued three-year-old California Sea Lion is the first non-human mammal to find and keep a musical beat. University of California Santa Cruz graduate student Peter Cook explains they trained Ronan to move her head in time with rhythmic sounds, proving animals have a sense of rhythm. Cook says Ronan’s favorite song is Earth Wind and Fire’s ‘Boogie Wonderland’.
