Since 2010 Planetary Resources formerly known as Arkyd Astronautics, have been looking to redefine natural resources by reaching out to asteroids in our solar system, you could say Planetary Resources is a part of the Space Gold Rush. Their mission is to gain access to the natural resources of space by mining near-Earth asteroids for anything ranging from water to precious metals. Planetary Resources includes a team of 11 and a handful wealthy investors which include CEO of Google Larry Page, Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, Director James Cameron, Hungarian Software Architect Charles Simonyi and more.
