20-year-old Erick Reis was leaving a friend’s engagement party when he spotted hundreds, maybe thousands of Anelosimus eximius aka ‘social spiders’ between two poles in the town of Santo Antônio da Platina located in southern Brazil. A local biologist explained the massive colony was ‘normal’ and has no threat to humans. We would be running for our lives if we saw this in real life.
