Google Earth Helps Indian Man Find Long-Lost Family After 25 Years

In 1986, when he was just four years old, Saroo Brierley of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh in India became separated from his family. After surviving months on the streets of Calcutta he was adopted by the Brierley family of Hobart, Tasmania in Australia. As an adult, Brierley spent countless hours searching satellite images on Google Earth, determined to find something familiar. Eventually Brierley tracked down his home village, searched the streets for his family, and found his long-lost family.
