Boy Asks Mailman For Junk Mail To Read And Mailman Surprises Him With Hundreds Of Books

With no money to buy books or a bus pass to the library, 12-year-old Mathew Flores went out on a limb and asked his mailman, Ron Lynch, for any junk mail he could read. After Ron discovered Mathew was reading ads for fun, Ron shared Mathew’s story on Facebook and requested reading material. The post went viral and people from around the world sent books. Hundreds have been delivered to Mathew, and hundreds more are on the way.

Woman Tosses Son To Safety Seconds Before Being Swallowed Alive By Broken Escalator

Over the weekend at the Jingzhou Shashi Anliang department store in central China, 30-year-old Xiang Liujua died after a faulty escalator swallowed her alive. Liujua and her 2-year-old son had no idea that the escalator was broken until they were already on it. Once at the top of the escalator, a metal panel gave way and pulled Liujua and her son underneath. Liujua tossed her son to safety seconds before she was sucked into the machine. The tragic incident is still being investigated.

Woman Gives Birth To 10-Pound Baby In A Car While Husband Drives And Films

While driving to the Bay Area Birthing Center in Pasadena, Texas, Lesia Pettijohn went into labor and asked her husband, Johnathan, to film it. Johnathan took out his GoPro camera and, while driving down the highway, managed to capture Lesia delivering the baby herself in the passenger seat. KTRK-TV in Houston says the couple didn’t have a working cell phone to call for help and continued driving to the hospital. Lesia says she uploaded the video to YouTube for family and friends, and it just took off.
