In March of 2014, seven-year-old Bruno, a police dog for the Anaheim Police Department, found an armed gang member and was shot in the line of duty. Bruno’s partner/handler, officer R.J. Young said, “It was a horrific thing to have to watch, my entire world came crumbling down in the matter of a second.” After a successful surgery and retiring from the force, Bruno was awarded a Distinguished Service medal, and was adopted by Young.
