20,000 Bees Swarm A College Student’s Car In England

Last week in Portsmouth, England a young queen bee decided to make a new hive in the wheel well of 21-year-old George Heal’s Nissan Mirca. When Heal’s housemates, Rory Edwards and Nick MacNaughtan, spotted the swarm on his car, they called Portsmouth City Council to take care of it. Bee Keeper Graham Cook safely removed the swarm without harming them and took them to a safer location. Cook said, “this time of year is the height of the swarming season, where young queens leave their mother’s hive to find a place to raise their own colony.”
