Almost 4,000 students packed into the Christ Chapel at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week for ‘Golden Eagle Day’, a special chapel service marking the beginning of the school year. To raise student’s excitement, the school hired World Bird Sanctuary and had Lewis, a 13-year-old, male bald eagle, soar above the crowd. Moments after the eagle took flight it became disoriented from the crowd chanting ‘USA! USA!’, crashed into a window and fell to the floor. Professional handler Roger Wallace said Lewis was unharmed in the incident and flew at a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game the next day.
